Unforgettable Gift for Your Valentine Sweetheart

In keeping with the romantic, Valentine's, true love, love of a lifetime theme, I would like to share with you, my tribute (or Ode, as it were) to my own love.

I wrote this song in the summer of 2004, at a time when I was struggling to make a fresh start on my own with my kids. Every aspect of my life was bordering on chaotic - my son's social disability and problems in school, my daughter's evolution to adulthood, no social life, (who had time?) no career possibilities and my own romantic complications and challenges were enough to send me screaming mindlessly to the psych ward.

One of the few things that kept me sane was my music. Whenever I could find a quiet moment I would drag out my guitar and play. It was difficult to focus my thoughts, as there was so much going on around me and so little time to get everything that needed doing, done, but somehow, my guitar helped me sort out the important things.

Everyone at one time or another has sung along with the great crooners of our time to express their love and desire for their sweetheart.

It seems every time we turn on our radios there is another ballad that tugs on our heartstrings and reminds us just how special that certain someone is to us.

My personal favorite, aside from my own composition of course, is "Amazed" by Lonestar.

Most people think that they don't have what it takes to write a song - let alone one that tells the world how you feel about your love interest. Nothing could be farther from the truth - true, your words may never be aired for the rest of us to hear, but that shouldn't be the reason not to put pen to paper, or verse to music.

So without any further ado, I give you "Too Hot" - my celebration of the love of my life.
