Health and Home HubNuggets

Something different

Every week, the HubNugget team members choose six hubs in each of the three randomly chosen categories (for a total of eighteen hubs,) that have been written and published by new members, and showcase them within a HubNugget hub for the Hub Pages community to read and then vote for their favorites.

Generally, we write something fun or interesting, or both, but sometimes, we fall prey to the beast called Writers Block.

This week, the beast paid me a visit...

The Beast

For the last three weeks I have been wracking my brain to come up with an idea for my HubNugget hub. Most weeks I have my idea formed, and have at the very least sketched out the bones of the hub, but for whatever reason, this week I came up dry.

The horrible, brain sucking beast, Writer's Block has foiled every attempt to churn out an idea worthy to hub about! This is terrible! The Hub Pages community is counting on me (as a team member,) to showcase this weeks nominees with something other than a bare-bones-here-they-are-in-one-paragraph-hub.

No matter how hard I try, my brain stalls out and refuses to work.

I thought of asking Patty Inglish MS - she always has great ideas and a veritable treasure trove of hubs on almost every subject under the sun, but I didn't want to bother her as she is incredibly busy. Then I thought to ask RedElf - she has so many awesome ideas and hordes of hubs and she is so creative and imaginative that I thought for sure she could help me with my problem. Unfortunately, she is also incredibly busy!

I kept going down the list of team members - ladyjane1 - she just finished a hub last week, and I know she is too busy, KoffeeKlatch Gals - ditto! Jason Menayan, Simone Smith and Maddie Ruud are always up to their ears in work, and ripplemaker is no exception. If I'm swamped, which I am, I know the rest of the team is in the same boat, so there was no way I could impose on any of them (with a clear conscious,) to help.

So...here I sit...idea-less and running out of time...

Health

I thought the only way I could redeem myself would be to pen a few words about each of this weeks categories, before introducing our nominees, so here goes.

This category, (Health,) is rather self explanatory. Unless you have been hiding under a rock somewhere, anyone would realize this category encompasses virtually anything that helps, benefits, prevents, or informs readers about everything related to mental or physical health and overall well-being.

For the uninitiated, this could mean why gardening lowers blood pressure, or is good for the soul, why redecorating makes you feel young and alive, how shopping can be turned into a healthy past time instead of a chore, how pets help heal the elderly, etc. I could go on, but I think you get my drift here.

As you can see, virtually anything can be related to health, and as I have run out of things to say, I will simply introduce this weeks nominees in the Health category. Happy reading, and don't forget to vote for your faves!

Home

Ah...Home Sweet Home...

This category shouldn't need an introduction, after all, home is where the heart is...or so the saying goes. Anything from shopping, plumbing, gardening, cooking, redecorating or simply cleaning relates to this category. It's all in the content, meaning, what you are trying to get across to your reader.

Even creative endeavors and writing can be part of the Home category. It all depends on how the content relates best to the available categories. It can be a tad confusing at times, but if your hub can be slotted equally well in several categories, simply choose the one you think will give you the best traffic and you're done. No more agonizing!

...And that goes for me too! Since my brain has quit working again, I will stop the pain by introducing this weeks nominees in the Home category. Be sure to read and vote for your favorite hubs!

Religion and Philosophy

Okay, now this category can be a doozie. I was told, many moons ago when the earth was young and the grass was green, that politics and religion were two subjects that were never, if ever and only while wearing protective gear, discussed among friends, at the dinner table, in mixed company, family gatherings or parties.

The only place, so I was told, that it was alright to discuss politics and religion were at church or political rallies. However, after being informed about these subject's possible volatility, I chose to heed my elders and firmly keep my mouth closed...so call me a chicken...cluck, cluck...It's safer this way!

Here are this weeks nominees in the Religion and Philosophy category. The one thing I will say is this - make sure to read and vote for your favorites!

...And congratulations to all the nominees in all the categories!
