Thanksgiving - A Thankful HubNugget Holiday Hub
65Pilgrim Fathers
Everyone who graduated from Grade School knows about Plymouth Rock, the Founding Fathers, and the first Thanksgiving, which history books place at Plymouth Plantation in Massachusetts in 1621.
Although there are different dates for Thanksgiving in Canada, and different origins for the birth of this holiday, Thanksgiving is traditionally a day to give thanks for the harvest and express gratitude, and is fondly pictured with men and women garbed as Pilgrims, sharing food with their Native American brethren.
Who would have guessed that from those humble beginnings, we would be able to connect with friends and family all over the world in the blink of an eye with a tool called the Internet.
(You have no idea how hard it was to write with cranberry jelly...it doesn't want to stay put...but I digress...)
Most families will congregate around a table laden with sumptuous delights and delicacies, lorded over by that magnificently aromatic icon of the feast, the turkey. (I am speaking about the bird here...) However, our HubPages family is a little large to fit around one table, so I decided to bring the feast to you in the form of a HubNugget Thanksgiving!
Please bow your heads...
Before we enjoy this sumptuous repast of HubNugget Wannabes I would ask that you bow your heads in thanks for this marvelous selection, and the dedication from our amazing HubPages Staffers, Marketing Director Jason, Group Manager Maddie, and Woman of All Fix-ing Simone, who support our little team as we roam the high seas in search of these nuggets of treasure for us to enjoy. Amen.
The First Course - Pilgrim Patty and De Mayflower Greek
First off, allow me to give thanks to our very own Pilgrim Patty, who, with no thought to her own peril, (and out of earshot of De Mayflower Greek,) leaped into the frigid waters to rescue a group of HubNugget Wannabes from drowning in a sea of obscurity.
Pilgrim Patty managed to secure the group with a lifeline, but the waves threatened to swamp the whole party before they could get to shore.
Thankfully for us, De Mayflower Greek was watching her progress from the bridge of his famous vessel, and ordered a lifeboat into the swells to retrieve them.
His quick thinking averted a disaster and landed them all a tad waterlogged, but safe and sound, on Plymouth Rock!
So, without further ado, I give you the first course of our HubNugget Thanksgiving dinner! These tasty morsels have been cooking all week, and are absolutely divine with stuffing...please pass the gravy...

Seconds Anyone - Pilgrim Koffee Klatch Gals and Pilgrim RedElf
Our next pilgrim that I would like to give thanks for, is Pilgrim Koffee Klatch Gals, for her relentless courage when faced with finding stray HubNugget Wannabes and for selflessly putting her vast writing skills to the test to bring us such a delightful brew of hubs to warm our hearts... and please pass the potatoes...thank you...as I was saying...
One can't fail to mention Bos'n Pilgrim RedElf, whose valiant efforts to keep the Mayflower afloat, on course to find the HubNugget Wannabes, keep them from getting fouled in the ship's rigging - a terrible place for a lone Wannabe to become stranded, and ensure a safe and sound landing at Plymouth Rock, has not gone unnoticed and definitely, not unsung!
Without their courage and dedication, we wouldn't be able to enjoy this sumptuous repast of Wannabe writing - complete with all the Thanksgiving trimmings...I'll have a little more dark meat please...oh, and please pass the stuffing...
Here they are for your enjoyment - I hope you find them as tender and flavorful as I have...

Pilgrim ripplemaker and Pilgrim Zsuzsy
I would once again, with your permission of course, I interrupt this wonderful feast to give thanks to two more members of our glorious HubNugget Team, Pilgrim ripplemaker and Pilgrim Zsuzsy Bee.
Our team would be incomplete without Pilgrim ripplemaker's cheerful and heartfelt Wannabe visits, congratulating all the Nominees on their fine works, and Pilgrim Zsuzsy Bee's insightful and humorous encouragement to promote their work and giving them and the rest of the HubPages family of writers their special brand of support.
For dessert, we are serving up a wonderful selection of decedent treats that are sure to please...oh, no thank you...I couldn't...I'm stuffed...well...maybe just one...

Avast fellow Pilgrims and welcomed Guests!
Since De Mayflower Greek saved the first batch of Wannabes and the lifeline, I've been thankful to read and vote in each category. We'd doubly thankful if all of you would do the same, Goodly Readers :)
I must say, De Mayflower Greek is a much better Captain than the one were were almost burdened with - that one's map showed a course straight for the Devil's Triangle. (No, I've no idea what happened to him. Pay no attention to the mummbling under the tarp of the last lifebopat - it's just a rat.)
Great graphics on the Hub this week as usual...
Hey, some of those "Pilgrims" look mighty familiar though...Great Great Great ancestors of a couple Great Hubbers?
Those were the days....When you wrote a "Hub" on a turkey's back then trained it to fly around to each individual log cabin all over the world so it could be read...It was a much simpler time...
OMG.... is this true? I am in the hubnugget nomination for the third time. Past two times I won... Now once again, on the way to request all my friends for voting :-) Thank you so much dear team.
Dear God, thank you for this Hubnuggets Feast and all of the Hubnuggets Team and the Hubnuggets Wannabes! Blessings and love to all.
Enelle, I am honored and happy to be part of this feast as always. This hub is wonderfully crafted and the photos made me grin. Happy thanksgiving! I am off to do some hubhopping! Be right back! :)
@Alternative Prime - and I'm still wearing the same style of clothing.
Thanks to all who have read and voted, so far!
AP - but sometimes the turkey never quite made it to all the log cabins - ahhh yes, the olden days - My paw used to say some of those messenger turkeys were mighty tasty!
Read and voted - Congratulations to all the nominees!
A great bunch of hubs, Enelle - make sure you save some turkey for De Mayflower Greek - he'll probably be hungry after saving Pilgrim Patty and the first batch of HubNuggets!
Wooohooo! I'm so honored to have contributed to this feast. I don't even like to cook, but this time I guess I'll make an exception! :-)
Bcatgray, thanks for follow the link: teehee...thank you for making an exception!
Voted, voted, voted! To all the nominees...go, go, go!
Wow, thank you so so much! It is such an honour to be nominated!!! And what a wild, wacky, entertaining HubNugget story, as usual. Congrats to all the nominees and thanks to everyone that votes!

Coffee or no coffee I'm ready for my after-dinner-nap. I'm stuffed. How awesome to be with so many friends all at once on Thanksgiving. (isn't the internet just the most amazing thing ever...)
Enelle one tasty meal you dished out, tasty, tasty, tasty... yum
Super duper video too... reaches right into the heart.
Congrats Hubnuggeteers on the nominations. You still have some work to do though... can't sit back on your laurels yet. You gotta promote your hubs. Shout it loud and wide, to family and friends alike.
So much work has gone i to creating this hub but the end product was brilliant. you are very talented in your use of words and also your natural way of conveying the hub.
